I did it!

April 29th, 2006 by Eloewien

It’s my first pair of socks… very basic sock, using On-Line brand Supersocke Fun yarn color 770 and the “Socks in Three Sizes” pattern, tweaked for finer yarn. I chose not to start at the same point in the yarn, so the socks are a little different (notice the heels and toes are different colors), but this is just because I like the slightly mismatched look. I’m going to make a second pair for my mother, with the only change being that I’ll tighten up the ribbing using smaller needles. I hope this will help them to stay up– not that mine droop, but I think it will help. I also had a little fun and made a mini sock, which I’ll post a picture of later.

Gallery

My gallery is now up at http://dragonwingarts.com/gallery/ (or through the link on the right). My current projects are my first pair of knitted socks. I have one sock done and the second on the needles. I’m also trying my hand at felting my knitting a pair of clogs. Finally, I’m making Blanket Buddies for babies and small children. The Velvetspun yarn is amazingly soft, it really does feel like velvet! Hopefully I’ll be able to update these pictures in the next few days with a few more pictures of my socks and clogs as they progress!
